Libby’s Farmer, Plains’ Jermyn win Whitefish titles

WHITEFISH — Libby’s Capri Farmer and Plains’ John Jermyn led the packs, while the Wolfpack warmed up for their own meet by sweeping the Whitefish Invitational titles in Tuesday.

Glacier won the boys and girls team crowns at the meet, held at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. Behind Nathan Turner’s fourth-place finish, the Wolfpack boys had 60 points to 92 for Flathead and 94 for Libby. 

Jermyn won the individual title convincingly, finishing in 16 minutes. 6.3 seconds. Whitefish’s Porter Shehan was next at 16:16.1 and Libby’s Cody Watson (16:36.8) was third.  

Turner led a 4-6-9-14-27 finish for Glacier; Charlie Zlogar, Josiah Turner and Josiah Kelly were all among the top 14 finishers.  

Flathead had Corbyn Cummins finish 12th among the boys, running a personal record of 18:26.6. Other top finishers included Thompson Falls’ Weston Block, who was fifth, and Eureka’s Aiden Hartman, who had a PR of 18:25.6 to take 11th. 

Farmer, like Jermyn a junior, won the girls race in 18:46.3 and led the Loggers to a second-place finish.  

Flathead’s Finley Putzler was second with a personal record of 20:18.8; Peyton Eaglefeathers of Browning was third, just ahead of Whitefish’s Kendall Dye. 

Glacier won with 38 points: Jamie Murphy led a 5-7-8-9-14 finish for the Wolfpack, along with Kaia Ridgway, Anika Ackerly, Mesa Lee and Peyton Wilson. 

Libby was next at 63, just ahead of Whitefish at 67.  

Kayleigh Desch, Hailey Misner and Alli Clemons finished 10th, 11th and 13th for the Loggers, and Misner ran a personal best time. 

Dye’s time was 20:33.2, and Whitefish teammate Marin Gignoux hit her PR of 21:44.6. 

Glacier is hosting its invitational meet Thursday at Rebecca Farm; it will include Bigfork and Columbia Falls.
