Noxon building momentum as season heats up

Starting slow and quiet but finishing up fast and loud, the Noxon Red Devils may have lost the volleyball match with Troy in Noxon last Tuesday, but the Noxon girls made it clear they will make some noise at some point this season.
“We started off slow and quiet, ended faster and louder,” coach Toni Richter said. “Still didn’t get a win but continuing to see growth from these young athletes.”
Senior Sandy Bonney led Noxon in the 25-14, 25-16, 25-11 loss to Troy, hitting five kills and three aces, besides blocking four Trojan kill attempts.
Nevaeh Christensen hit two kills, five assists and seven digs, Laynie Eichert seven digs, Sydnie Eichert three assists, Kaylie Mercer two kills and Brielle MacArthur two aces.
The Devils’ next chance to make net noise will come in Superior Saturday in a District 14C match with the Lady Cats.
