Whitefish High School soccer continues to be a seemingly unstoppable force.  

Each team earned a shutout at Libby on Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs won 6-0 and the Bulldogs won 4-0.  

At home on Thursday against Browning, the girls won 15-0 and the boys won 12-0. 

The wins brought the girls team record to 8-1 and the boys record to 7-1-1. 

Three goals in each half against the Loggers, a hat trick by sophomore Atley Bingham, a brace by Neva Sliman, and one from Adelle Flynn kept the girls’ winning streak alive.  

Six unique Whitefish players contributed assists in the game that saw the Lady Bulldogs take 24 shots on goal while Libby was allowed just one shot that was saved by keeper Ginger Bergland. 

The Loggers’ misfortune began shortly after the opening whistle. Libby faulted when a player double struck the ball on the opening kickoff. The kickoff was then given to Whitefish who scored within 30 seconds. 

“Ayla Mosher brought great energy into the attack,” Whitefish Head Coach Kelly Ordway said. “Whitefish distributed the ball well, as a whole, to create goal scoring opportunities.”  

Four Whitefish boys scored against the Loggers, all in the first half. Seniors Luke Healy and Martin Christianson along with freshmen Roen Chisholm and Rex Johnston each found the back of the net. 

"Libby is an away game we have struggled with in the past, and we were happy with the way we began the game,” Whitefish Head Coach Eric Sawtelle said. “We possessed the ball with intent and created many good goal scoring opportunities attacking the wide spaces.” 

The Bulldogs had 15 shots on goal and eight corner kicks, while the Loggers had three shots on frame and one corner kick. 

“The second half we lost our way a little and forced the ball through the middle too much,” Sawtelle said. “Overall, our defense was solid once again, and we were very happy to come out of the game with another clean sheet.”     

The goal difference rule came into play in both the boys and girls games against Browning on Thursday at Smith Fields. 

Whitefish’s homecoming game was Tuesday against Thompson Falls and they will travel to Columbia Falls on Saturday where the boys play at 11 a.m. and girls play at 1 p.m.
