At the top of their game

We have been hosting winemaker dinners now for nearly five years, and we hold about one per month. It doesn't seem like that long to us, either. Over that time, we have worked with the best North Idaho has to offer in restaurants and their chefs. All those we have worked with are creative and have put together spectacular meals coupled with exceptional service. We appreciate every one of them, and we look forward to continue working with them all in the future. From time to time over those years, I have written about the restaurants and some of the great meals they have put together. There is one restaurant and their team, though, that is absolutely at the top of their game, and which I never tire of talking about.

Into the lion's den

One of the many services that the omnipresent Google offer is something called Google Alerts. Anytime your company is mentioned in the news you can sign up, for a fee I’m certain, to receive an alert that it was mentioned and in what publication. I have been aware of the service for some time but was reminded recently when I wrote my “Wine and Rock & Roll” column that took Rombauer Vineyards to task about some of their stylistic decisions.

The crowd pleasers

Here are our fall finds that are priced a bit more gently, and are more economical for the large gatherings of family and friends we have during the fall and winter holidays. The wines we wrote about last week are all fabulous but whether you are serving a crowd or looking for the perfect Tuesday night wine, these are priced right.
