History has taught us that Government Social Programs are almost always unsuccessful. Most of the past social programs have been started by Democrats. They have always had good intentions, but their results have almost always been a failure. Politicians always want to be judged on their good intentions rather than the results of their efforts. A report from the Montana Legislature

Montana has by far the highest workers’ compensation rates in the country, with costs over 160 percent above the national median. An overhaul of the system is essential to prevent the exodus of employers who find it more cost-efficient to conduct business in nearby states. House Republicans introduced a bill this past week that addresses our state’s burdensome workers’ comp costs and will allow employers to keep jobs in Montana. Representative Scott Reichner (R) Bigfork, the primary sponsor of the bill stated “Bottom line, this is a jobs bill. It allows more earnings to stay in the hands of the private sector, which they can then use to hire new employees and for reinvestment in local economies,”

Stocks open lower on Wall Street following weakness overseas

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are opening lower again on Wall Street, putting the market on track for a weekly loss after two weeks of gains. Overseas markets were also weaker Friday after a rise in virus cases in South Korea and other countries revived anxiety about the outbreak. Cabot Oil & Gas sank after reporting weak results. The S&P 500 fell 13 points, or 0.4%, to 3,359. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 108 points, or 0.4%, to 29,111. The Nasdaq lost 40 points, or 0.4%, to 9,707. Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.49%.
