Monday evening, search and rescue personnel was called out to Big Mountain to help find an injured skier believed to be out of bounds.

Denise May (Feaser) Hamilton passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2010 at the age of 55 after a short battle with cancer. Born Aug. 5, 1954 in Maryland to John William Feaser and Dolores Wilderson Feaser, Denise could be considered a "wild child" as she was always getting into trouble with her black and gold Mustang. After graduating from Randallstown High School in 1972, Denise went to Arizona to visit long-time friend and 'sister' Helen.

Kalispell police arrested a 19-year-old man for felony arson and obstructing justice when officers came across him trying to light construction materials on fire near a Main Street work site. He later claimed he had a broken leg, even after running on it for several blocks from officers.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office took a report about overachieving thieves who broke into a construction site on South Silvertip; they even took the lock.

Park's bear monitoring and capturing begins

Visitors are urged to be alert and bear aware in Glacier National Park as bear monitoring gets underway with bait stations and traps. Trapping efforts will continue through October at various locations throughout the park.
