The artwork of John Fery will be on display at the Hockaday Museum of Art from June 15 through Sept. 18, with an opening reception Thursday, June 17, from 5-7 p.m. Fery studied in Europe at Dusseldorf Academy in Germany. His first experience with America was bringing European nobility on hunting trips through the Northwest in 1892-1893 He painted the landscape of the American West during these trips. Fery made an important contribution in the creation of Glacier National Park through his work. He was commissioned by the Great Northern Railroad to paint the scenery along its route and in the Park to attract people to the area. John B. Fery will speak about his grandfather at 6 p.m. Admission is free for Hockaday members and $10 for adults.
