Idaho reports second confirmed case of Coronavirus

BLAINE COUNTY — South Central Public Health District (SCPHD) and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) have confirmed a positive case in south central Idaho of novel coronavirus in a female over the age of 50. This is the first in this area and the second in Idaho. The first was announced Friday in southwest Idaho during a joint press conference with Gov. Brad Little.

Camping season on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests begins

Coeur d’Alene – It is camping season on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests and the Forest Service would like to inform the public of operational changes, campground opening dates, and a few tips for a fun and safe camping season. Concessionaire-operated campgrounds on the Forest are now managed by Scenic Canyons Recreational Services, Inc. (SCRS). Most concessionaire-operated campgrounds will open May 17, 2019 with reduced services on a first-come, first-served basis until the official opening date for reservations on May 24, 2019. Volunteers of Silver Angels for the Elderly often wear feathery halos as they bring joy to residents of rehabilitation facilities. Those angelic accessories were fittingly worn Dec. 15 as the Angels and American Heritage Girls, accompanied by jolly old St. Nick visited Ivy Court and Silver Ridge Care. "American Heritage Girls gave the residents beautiful Christmas songs and handcrafted cards," Silver Angels for the Elderly founder Diane Zell said Friday. "Santa, aka Dave Sheldon, delighted the residents with his presence and presents. The joyful choir and Santa went down the halls to the bedbound residents handing out gifts and cookies."
