Graduating KTEC students moving into careers
Kids made major commitments at Kootenai Technical Education Campus Thursday, when 10 students signed agreements to enter job training after they graduate. Two students agreed to join private sector car dealerships as maintenance technicians in exchange for job training and certifications, and eight students enlisted into the military with up to six-yer commitments.

AWB honors exceptional Washington employers
TACOMA — The Association of Washington Business presented its top awards to 13 employers Thursday at the annual Evening of Excellence during a gala ceremony at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. “It is our distinct privilege to honor employers who are helping make Washington an incredible place to work, live and raise a family,” said AWB President Kris Johnson, who emceed the event. “Through these awards, we are celebrating their successes and thanking them for their contributions to the economy and our communities.” Nine Washington Excellence Awards and four Manufacturing Excellence Awards were presented. Approximately 250 companies were nominated for awards. A panel of judges chose the finalists and winners.

Pirates wrestlers learn valuable lesson at Whitefish
Lake County Leader Polson wrestling coach Bob Owen recognizes the achievement of his top 7 players catapulting their Pirates to a top 15 finish and the highest finish in 10 years at the Tri-State Meet at the tournament in Coeur D’alene, Idaho, but he knows there is still plenty of room for improvement from the younger sector of his team. Prior to heading into winter break, the Pirates participated in a Double-Duel that featured White Fish and Browning.
