Spring

After the short winter days and the long winter storms we always look forward to this time of year, not just for those lengthening days and sunny skies but because of all the great new wines that release in the spring. The summer reds of 2015

Food off the grill, summer picnics on the beach or your own backyard deck, and late suppers outside, summer is here and our diets move to lighter foods. Finding wine on vacation

Mary and I just returned from a bit of time off, we were fortunate enough to be vacationing in some relatively remote islands. We were joined by friends and family and had all gone together on a condominium rental that afforded us the chance to have some of our meals prepared there. Well, as these things go, tough to have a nice dinner at “home” without some wine to go with it. The trick for all wine consumers though is finding wine when away from our “home base” that we will like and fits within our budgets. Even when travelling domestically you can still face challenges when looking for your favorites.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — For the second time in less than a week, a 21-year-old man used a gun purchased legally in the United States to massacre people simply working or visiting a business. The mass shootings in Colorado and Georgia are giving new urgency to state efforts to enact gun restrictions, even while showing how hard it can be to prevent a tragedy.
