4A DISTRICT 1-2 TRACK & FIELD: Sandpoint boys, girls champions once again
Overall, Sandpoint posted 24 top two finishes and a total of 20 Bulldogs will be headed to the 4A State Championships set to be held May 17-18 at Mountain View High.

MOSES LAKE – The 2024 regular season was a successful one for the Moses Lake boys track and field team, as the Mavericks clinched their first Columbia Basin Big 9 team title with last week’s win over Eisenhower.

In 5A, the Post Falls boys and Coeur d'Alene girls lead the team scoring through nine events. Lakeland's boys and Sandpoint's girls lead in the 4A meet. Both the 5A and 4A meets conclude today at Sweeney Track in Lewiston starting at 2 p.m.

The Bi-Partisan Infrastructure Law and its connection to safety for people and wildlife was on Pete Buttigieg’s mind during his recent visit to the Flathead Reservation. Buttigieg, the U.S. Transportation Secretary, was in Western Montana Monday and Tuesday to celebrate funding from the Bi-Partisan Infrastructure Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Biden in 2021.

Wahluke advances to district final, state with win over Toppenish
MATTAWA – It took a penalty shootout to determine the winner of Tuesday’s South Central Athletic Conference district tournament semifinal, where Wahluke outscored Toppenish 4-2 in penalty kicks to defeat the Wildcats 3-2. Wahluke surrendered two second-half goals that sent the match into overtime.
