Apparently the present City Council does not realize that the Third Street boat launch is the premier launch in all North Idaho. No other boat launch even comes close to providing equal amenities. The launch has a gentle approach to the water and can accommodate the launching of four boats at a time. A fueling station is nearby and it is centrally located on the lake.

Sylvia passed away on September 3, 2019 in Kellogg Idaho due to natural causes. Sylvia was born June 30, 1937 to David and Virginia (Chandler) Hawley at the Fort Belknap Hospital in Harlem, Montana. She was a member of the Aaniiih Tribe (aka:Montana Gros Ventre).
