On March 20th, 2020 our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully, at age 74, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Hayden

Donna Taylor, 85

Donna was born on 12/22/1938 in Long Beach, California, and died on 6/20/2024 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

MOSES LAKE — Will Stakelin and his son Connor Stakelin didn’t want to let the space once occupied by Squirrelfight Artisan Brewing stay empty for very long. “A lot of people had no clue that Squirrel Fight went out of business,” Connor said as he stood in the cavernous room where Squirrel Fight used to brew beer. “But the reality is, the space was vacant, and all of their items were up for auction a couple of months prior to us even leasing the space.” ...

Othelia Magdalena Schazenbach Weare passed away in Kalispell on June 16, 2017 when her adventurous heart finally gave out at the age of 94. Othelia, whom everyone knew as “Toots,” was born in Akaska, South Dakota to Christian and Beatrice on May 22, 1923.

Lucy passed away peacefully in her sleep March 5, 2018, at Hidden Meadows Memory Care in Columbia Falls, following a long, difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

First Thursday Gallery Nights takes place on July 2 at galleries across downtown Whitefish. Jest Gallery, 305 East Second Street in Whitefish, will hold a reception for East Glacier-based artist Roger Rink and his recent work, ìBig Sky.î The Walking Man Frame Shop & Gallery will host an opening reception for Montana artist Peter Moore and his exhibit ìThe North Fork & Beyond." Stumptown Art Studio will hold an opening reception for artist Shannon Webster's exhibition of paintings called ìObservations.î

I would like to invite the community to see for themselves what is being proposed in the high school renovation bond. There will be an open house at Bigfork High School at 5:30 on September 10th.  If that doesn’t fit in your schedule, please, call the superintendent’s office at 837-7400 to schedule another time to see the school and get the facts. You can also go to www.bigforkschools.org and click on the bright red “school bond” link on the left side of the page. This link provides a lot of information, including financial breakdowns.

Patriotic music to be performed in downtown Bigfork

Bigfork is known for it’s strong artistic community, whether it’s plays, paintings, sculptures or singing. On Friday a patriotic flair will be added to Bigfork’s repertoire of creative expression with live performances of “The Star Spangled Banner” three times a week and everyone is encouraged to join in with the singing.

The fourth annual Flathead Earth Day Festival on Saturday will celebrate the completion of two projects in the city.
