The Kalispell Planning Board is meeting on Feb. 13, at 6:00 p.m., to make a final decision on the proposed 324-unit apartment complex at 325 Two Mile Drive. The builder has now requested to haul 25,000 cubic yards of dirt into that field to bring it above flood plain. That is 2,090 dump-truck loads coming and going, before any building has begun. What will now happen to all of the surrounding properties, when they alter the natural lay of the land?

Whitefish Middle School drama students will perform “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “The Princess and the Pea,” two fairy tales for the price of one, in the Whitefish Middle School auditorium on Thursday and Friday, March 18 and 19, at 7:30 p.m. The plays are directed by teacher Glenda McGunagle and student Katie McGunagle. Tickets are $6 adults and $4 students and seniors, available in advance at Whitefish Middle School, Muldown Elementary School and Imagination Station in Whitefish and Kalispell. One dollar from every ticket will go to the auditorium remodeling project.

Proposed high school renovation unnecessary

The Inter Lake article on May 16 was about Bigfork High Schools $14 million expansion to do what? Lower the gym floor so they can host tournaments? Hide the buses and the bus maintenance building someplace else because it is not "natural" to see them around a school? Make a large commons area so visitors can see education happening? Improve the parking lot for what, tournament parking? Let me be clear. $14 million or more to make Bigfork High School look classy at a big cost to taxpayers who expect education to be improving, not rebuilding the sports arena! I doubt if you tax payers will let that happen.
