City of Warden Notice of SEPA Determination of Non-significance NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the City of Warden has determined that the proposed Sewer Line Extension Project is not likely to result in significant adverse environmental impacts and has issued a Determination of Non-significance. Project Description: The project would extend the wastewater collection system to better serve its users within the City limits. This includes the installation of approximately 3,870 LF of 8-Inch gravity sewer, 420 LF of 2-Inch gravity sewer, and 2,900 LF of 6-Inch force main. As part of this project, a new access road will also be constructed to the lift station. Project Location: The proposed project site parallels the USBR East Low Canal Easement approximately 10 ft south of the southern border of the easement from approximately 300 ft west of the Columbia Basin Railroad Mainline for approximately 2,200 ft. The project then parallels Basin Street to Road U SE. A copy of the threshold determination for this proposal may be obtained upon request to the City of Warden . Covenant Christian School students grow plants for fundraiser

MOSES LAKE — Many gardeners in the Basin have already started nursing their seedlings in preparation for the day they can put them in the ground. Others can place their orders this month for ready-to-go plants from Covenant Christian School’s first plant sale. Orders will open in mid-March, and be delivered in April and May. “We have herbs, we have vegetables, we have flowers,” CCS seventh- and eighth-grade teacher Valerie Parrott said Wednesday. “We’re growing mainly heirloom, non-GMO plants.” The horticulture class is the beginning of the ag program Covenant Christian School started this year, using a greenhouse donated by school volunteer Ed Macdonald, known around the school as Papa Ed. The greenhouse was still very much a work in progress Wednesday; the frame was mostly put together but the plastic sheeting hadn’t been installed to cover it.

Lions open the season 2-0

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School Lions got off to a strong start to their season taking two home games against Touchet and Entiat on Tuesday and Wednesday to start their season 2-0. “I think it went good, I think we got a little jumbled during the (second) game, but I think it was it was a good game for us to start off,” said Lions senior Brynlynn King. The Lions dominated in their season opener against Touchet on Tuesday, holding their opponent to five points total and preventing a single score in both the second and third quarters. The MLCA/CCS offense and defense were on full display in this game as they won 59-5.
