A Kalispell couple earned prison sentences Sept. 7 for a scheme that saw them steal hundreds of pieces of mail from rural mailboxes in the region while looking for credit cards.
Mailbox massacre by baseball bat
Between residents of Helena Flats Road and Creston Hatchery Road, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received reports that around 20 homes experienced mailbox vandalism on the same night. One resident reportedly saw the culprit and their license plate number. The resident claimed the suspect(s) was/were male and had taken a bat to the mailboxes before speeding away from the scene at around 2:30 a.m.
