$15K grant goes to FVCC's Running Start program

Students taking part in Flathead Valley Community College’s Running Start program this year will get an extra boost thanks to a $15,350 donation from AT&T Aspire. The funding will go toward student scholarships.

Sentence deferred in Subway break-in

POLSON – Scott Harpine, an employee of the Polson Subway who admitted to burglarizing the store in a nighttime raid last November, had his sentence deferred for three years in Lake County District Court last Thursday. Harpine still will be required to serve a total of 20 days in the Lake County Jail and has been granted credit for six days served already.

BFHS to host first annual Alumni Volleyball Tournament

Bonners Ferry High School will host its first annual alumni volleyball tournament on Saturday, Aug. 16, beginning at 9 a.m. in the BFHS gymnasium. Registration is open toto those who would like to participate. Each team must have at least six players, including a minimum of three BFHS alumni. The cost is $40 per player, which includes a tournament T-shirt. Payment will be collected on the day of the event at check-in. Cash, check, or credit/debit card will be accepted. Family, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend and cheer on the teams. Raffles will be happening throughout the day and proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting the BFHS volleyball program.
