Items like international cycling race banners, cycling jerseys, and several pictures of him posing with famous cyclists and cycling commentators like Eddy Merckx and Phil Liggett adorn the interior of a shed behind his house.

Sports Authority to close this summer

The Coeur d’Alene Sports Authority store located in the Silver Lake Mall is set to close this summer. Store manager Christina Pullins said Tuesday the company’s liquidation plan is still being decided, but the closure is expected to occur sometime in August.

MILLIE: Transplant operation failed

I am intrigued by Millie Hayes’ desire to continue to incite the residents of North Idaho, Post Falls in particular. I have lived in Kootenai County all of my life and have many friends who came here from California (I don’t hold that against them) and they are very thankful to be able to enjoy our peace of heaven. There are those transplant folks, like Millie, who whine and complain about our weather and our lack of giant chain stores to shop in and our podunk country attitudes which begs the question: WHY ARE YOU HERE MILLIE HAYES?

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies cited a 54-year-old man for shoplifting at a grocery store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. The man, who took makeup and hair ties, told deputies he was doing his Christmas shopping.
