No. 25940 NOTICE OF PASSAGE OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION FLATHEAD COUNTY ZONING REGULATIONS The Board of Commissioners of Flathead County, Montana, herby gives notice, pursuant to Section 76-2-205(5), M.C.A., that it passed a resolution of intention (Resolution No. 955IA) on January 28, 2019 to amend the text of the Flathead County Zoning Regulations. The character of many of the proposed amendments can generally be described as ensuring consistency in language throughout the regulations and to rearrange the placement of use districts in a more logical order. More significant amendments include, but are not necessarily limited to: eliminating zoning use districts from the regulations, renaming other zoning use districts, redefining various use districts, and permitted and conditional uses to various use districts, complete revision of the sign regulations, and adding and deleting definitions. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of passage of this resolution on the text amendments to the Flathead County Zoning Regulations are on file in the Office of the Board of Commissioners, and that for thirty (30) days after the first publication thereof, the Board of Commissioners will receive written protests to the amendments of the Flathead County Zoning Regulations, and that this notice shall be published once a week for two weeks. The Flathead Zoning Regulations are on file for public inspection at the Office of the Clerk and Recorder, Courthouse, 800 South Main Street West, Kalispell, Montana, at the Flathead county Planning and Zoning Office, 40 11th Street West, Kalispell, Montana, and on the Flathead County Planning and Zoning website at: http://flathead.mt.gov/planning_zoning/downloads.php. Documents related to the proposed text amendments are also on file for public inspect at the Office of the Board of Commissioners and the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office. I am a retired person who taught metal shop and automotive classes. When I left to get a higher paying job, my shop was turned into “academic” classrooms. This also happened to the electric shop. The school board’s view was industrial skills are obsolete and we need more computer programmers and sociology majors. All the equipment was sold to fund the multimedia classroom and advanced cheerleading.

Heroes and Helpers brings joy to families
Soldiers from the Idaho Army National Guard dashed into the Coeur d’Alene Target store Tuesday morning to escape the cold rain and wind while waiting for some special shoppers. Twelve local children from military families participated in the fifth annual Heroes and Helpers program that pairs National Guardsmen with a child to help them shop for free gifts for their family. Target’s jolly helpers (employees volunteering their time) were on hand to help in the process, from finding the right gift to wrapping them all up.
