Committee approves tax conformity bill
Public hearing centers on budget cut concerns
Mark Wynn, vice president of tax for Lamb Weston, said conformity is “the right choice for Idaho” but maintained concerns about several business provisions. He pointed to a restriction in the bill barring Idaho businesses from using research and development expenses for the state’s own tax credit and the federal deduction. Not allowing the use of the state tax credit in tandem, Wynn said, represented a tax increase for innovators in the state.

U.S. Postal (lack of) Service
I believe I’m not the only person in Moses Lake who is extremely frustrated with the US Postal (lack of) Service and its inability to accurately deliver our mail. I know that if I performed my job as poorly as a delivery person does, I would not be employed. Unfortunately we are stuck with these poor performers and poor standards that the U.S. Postal Service finds as acceptable mail delivery standards. Three days in a row I had to take time out of my day to go over to the post office and speak with a supervisor in regards to receiving someone else’s very important mail at both my home mailbox and PO Box. The address that was on the mail I received at my home wasn’t even remotely close to what my address is. The supervisor apologized to me regarding this gross negligence and informed me that the delivery people responsible for my locations would be spoken to. I am not satisfied with that reply. These actions continue to occur and all I get is an apology. Not acceptable. People, if you receive someone else’s please be courteous and return it to the post office or place it in the correct mailbox. Oh, wait, isn’t that what the delivery person is supposed to, place the mail in the correct mailbox? If you are as frustrated with the lack of mail delivery service as I am, don’t contact the Post Office, contact your U.S. Congressman, Dan Newhouse, since the U.S. Postal Service is a Federal agency. I know I don’t want to continue receiving or opening other individuals’ phone bill, DSHS information or bank statements, nor do I want someone to receive or open my mail. Will the Post Office pay for my new checks when I have to close my account because my account number has been compromised or will they place a fraud alert on my credit report when my Social Security number has been compromised and my identity stolen?
