McClure was guilty of starting the approximately 18-acre Finley fire on Evaro Hill and the devastating Boulder 2700 fire, July 31, 2021, on the east shore of Flathead Lake. The latter blaze burned 2,589 acres, consumed 14 homes and 17 other structures, and forced the evacuation of Finley Point.
Boy hit by car
The Columbia Falls Fire Department and Three Rivers EMS responded to Columbia Falls high School after a 17-year-old boy was hit by a car. He reportedly was riding on the hood of another car in the parking lot when he fell off and was struck. The boy, who was alert, breathing, and conscious, went by ambulance to North Valley Hospital.

In accordance with IDAPA 58.01.06.032.03.b, Stimson Lumber Company is issuing this public notice in regards to its permit application to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to site Tier II Non-Municipal Solid Waste Landfill. The landfill will accept wood waste and boiler ash from Stimson Lumber Company operations in the general area. The proposed landfill is located on Hoop Loop Road in the SE 1\4 of the NE 1\4 of Section 34, Township 56N, Range 5W of Bonner County. The Application to site the landfill has been completed and submitted to the DEQ. The general public has 30 days to make comment before the permit is issued. At the conclusion of the public comment period, DEQ will consider the comments and issue a decision regarding the approval of the permit application. The permit application may be reviewed and comments may be addressed to:

BERLIN (AP) — Germany has launched a new search for a site to store its most radioactive nuclear waste, eliminating a disputed site at a former salt mine that was earmarked decades ago and has long been a focus of protests.
