It started out as an ambitious plan. Sen. Max Baucus’ “clean slate” approach to federal tax reform had initial support from interests on both sides of the aisle. It was supposed to overhaul our bloated, incomprehensible tax code. Following an attempt in May to smuggle drugs into the Lincoln County Detention Center, a local man was sentenced to 13 months with the Montana Department of corrections with 10 years suspended and credit for time served in Montana 19th Judicial District Court on June 24.
