OTHELLO — The Huskies soccer team (14-6-1) was defeated 3-2 in a heartbreaker against Columbia River. When you win the game, you say, ‘I gave it my best,’ or if you happen to lose, you’re not regretting anything. It was devastating,” he said. The Huskies were able to get on the board first in the first 10 minutes after Eric Cruz passed the ball to Asaph Alfaro, who lined up his shot and fired away. Alfaro fired a right-footed shot from the left side of the goal and threaded the needle in the upper right corner of the net.

Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 3.5 percent in March, down one tenth of a percent from 3.6 percent in February. The opposite was the case in Bonner County, where the rate inched up slightly to 5 percent, up from 4.6 percent in February.

As we ease into the fourth quarter of our year we continue to see signs of a slow, but steady recovery in the housing market. Builders reported another increase in new home construction last month. This marks the biggest increase in more than four years. Driven by the historically low interest rates that have persisted this year, buyers are active although not in droves, but they are buying.

This year's statistics so far indicate a modest improvement in our overall real estate market. Although we do not see appreciation in all areas and in fact, some areas show decline, with only 244 sales of residential properties reported so far, it is too soon to predict a trend.
