A third Lakeside business received e-mails threatening retaliation if the proprietors didn't give the sender money. Flathead County sheriff's deputies are investigating the alleged extortion. Authorities asked that anyone who receives such an e-mail report it and ignore the threats.

The manager of a burger joint on U.S. 2 called Kalispell police after observing a woman, whose child was cavorting in the play area, who kept nodding off and whose eyes kept rolling back in her head. The manager thought she was on drugs. Turns out she was just extremely tired, as mothers of small children are wont to be.

Georgina "Gina" Herman, 36, "was promoted to heaven" on Sept. 2, 2009. Gina was born Nov. 22, 1972, in Omaha, Neb. Gina moved to Montana where she met Dale and they were married on May 25, 1997. Together they had three children, Dakota Charles, 13, Deetya Christine, 5, and Dezaray Chyann, 2 weeks, whom she loved fiercely.

Melissa Leann Sagen of Columbia Falls and Whitefish, 26, born Nov. 13. 1980, in Whitefish, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. She was a passenger in an automobile accident between St. Regis and Plains that was caused by a deer lying on the road. Melissa was greatly loved by many who knew her and will be forever missed.

Nomanson’s “Opinion” letter, June 12, about how the Coeur d’Alene Press publishing an AP opinion/analysis that was critical of the president and his visit in the U.K. and put it in the “News” section when it should have been in the “Opinion” section. It wasn’t too long ago The Press “schooled” its readers on the differences between what is a news article, opinion, column, research, editorial, etc. It looks like the teachers who schooled us need a refresher course.

Kalispell police arrested a boy for possession of imitation drugs at Kalispell Junior High School Wednesday. He reportedly had some green tea he planned to give away, with the implication the substance contained more than antioxidants.
