Grant County Pet of the Week: Sammi

Sammi’s been at the Grant County Animal Outreach shelter for nearly a year now and is about four years old. He gets along with some dogs but should probably meet any potential sibling canines ahead of time. He’s good with cats and absolutely adores most people. Sammi has a history of being abused. He does have a fear of men with beards and hats and would be best off in a home without small children. Sammi and his fellow four-legged friends are looking for homes and waiting at GCAO’s shelter located at 6725 Randolph Road NE in Moses Lake. Local granges were organized by rural communities as a social hub, and a place for agricultural education. It was quite common for a Grange Hall to be used as a gathering place for youth programs, celebrations, parties, weddings, square dances, music, presentations, speakers, classes, and ceremonies. This photo, from the late 1940s, is an exhibit at the county fair showing some of the many products created by the local granges.

Rising Sun reopens to hard-side campers

Glacier National Park’s Rising Sun Campground reopened to hard-side camping only on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Camo forgot to blend in

MOSES LAKE — Camo is a bit under a year and he’s so excited, he forgot to tone down the cuteness and blend in as his name suggests. A mixed-breed medium-sized dog, he may be about 44 pounds or so fully grown. He was brought into the shelter on December 10 and he’s hoping for a short stay at Grant County Animal Outreach.
