Flathead County sheriff's deputies responded to a motel on Montana 35 in Evergreen after a guest reported a strange smell coming from a neighboring room. Turns out the smell was coming from someone smoking marijuana, and the occupant was ticketed on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fall Festival & Fashion Show

The troubled economy we have experienced over the last few years has created a trend in wedding planning and more specifically in wine consumption at the "big event." The general trend that has emerged is couples planning their rehearsal dinners, ceremonies and receptions at private venues like backyards, lakefront homes and the like, which results in couples looking for wine as opposed to that which would normally be provided by the venue. When couples do hold them at a rented location most times they are hiring their own caterers and buying their own wine for the events. In both situations the reasons are the same - trying to make the day special as it should be but with an eye to budgetary concerns.

As the wine industry in North America continues to mature there are clear trends that are emerging at wineries in all of the appellations with respect to how the wineries are choosing to cover the costs of exposing their wines to the consuming public. Every wine country worldwide has its own peculiarities and standards for tasting. Those standards in the "old world" regions of Europe are firmly established and not going through as many changes while those here in the states are continuing to evolve.
