Listening sessions a step in the right direction
Rep. Dan Newhouse’s three “listening sessions” with constituents this week in Moses Lake, Sunnyside and Yakima attracted many people who wanted to weigh in on the issues. Changes coming with the election of President Donald Trump are on voters’ minds. Some critics say Newhouse took too long to see the voters and attempt to answer their concerns. At any rate, we’re glad the sessions happened and there’s more to come in the Lower Yakima Valley today and in Okanogan County on April 20. It would be interesting to see if similar issues crop up.
Food bank, company partner to distribute food in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — Volunteers from Moses Lake and around Grant County helped distribute about 7,900 pounds of food to needy families recently. The pop-up food bank was the second of the year for the partnership of 2nd Harvest of the Inland Northwest, Spokane, and Microsoft’s Quincy data facility.

Moses Lake Freedom Fest – grateful for the support
Grateful to the community for support of this event the first weekend in July. Our community hosted a large farmers market, activities for the kids, food truck rodeo, music, and fireworks on Saturday in McCosh Park. On Sunday, Grant County International Airport was the venue for static airshow, car show, art show, paper airplane contest, Home Depot kid craft, food and specialty vendors.
