I have been watching the events around the Columbia Falls Aluminum plant unfold with great concern. The issue hits right at home, as I am raising my two boys just outside of Columbia Falls, and have worked as a university researcher on water quality and rivers for over a decade.

Priest River store deserves kudos

No complaints today. I have a kudos instead. It goes to Pattie’s Action Auto Parts in Priest River. They have made my work and automotive hobby easier. Several times now Pattie has allowed me to ship truck freight items to her store. I can’t get a big truck to my place. From large and heavy sheetmetal restoration tools, to John Deere engine blocks. All by requested permission every time. After arrival, I get a call and go pick it up. Seamless and trouble free. This is so far beyond the normal process of buying my needed auto parts and consumables. Patties goes out of their way to help and it makes a difference. I have dealt with many auto parts houses in the last 35 years. A few good ones and plenty of not so good ones. It is one of the first items I check when moving to a new place. Where is the closest quality parts store. Patties Action Auto is the best. Worth the trip. And I mean that. I get greeted by name and I have never had an issue with a part. Pattie also has a steel trap of a memory with part numbers. She can rattle off a part number off the top of her head. I have not seen her be wrong yet. It is amazing to see. So Pattie, Larry, Josh, Fawn, Neil, and Joe, thank you. This is long overdue. For making my work easier and helping me obtain the tools that enable me to do a better job. And keeping my Jeeps running of course. I truly appreciate it.

A customer of ours stopped in the store this week and ordered a case of wine called Barinas. Barinas is a delicious wine from the Jumilla region of Spain, known for producing some of the very best Monastrell, which is also known as Mourvedre. The wines can be quite massive, with dense rich fruit and firm structure, ranging in price from $11 for the Barinas that our customer enjoys so much to wines that retail close to triple digits.
