After each posted monster seasons for their respective teams, five Lake County football players have been selected to represent the West in the 67th Annual Montana East-West Shrine Game in Butte on July 20.
POLSON — In what was a close match throughout between the Lady Pirates and the Maidens on Friday in Polson, Ronan would come away with the 36-32 victory.
NOXON — The Lady Vikings came into their two most recent games looking to generate more offense, and did precisely that by outscoring their conference opponents 123-45.
BIGFORK — The Bulldogs enter the holiday break with a disappointing 1-5 record after falling to Florence 77-64 last Thursday and Bigfork 71-50 on Saturday.
GREAT FALLS — Competing against over 30 other schools, the Chiefs left the CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls on Saturday with a ninth-place finish at the two-day event.
CORVALLIS — The Mission-Charlo wrestling team traveled to Corvallis on Saturday to compete in the nine-team Glyn Brawley Invitational, coming away with a fifth-place finish.
COEUR D’ALENE — Four Pirates wrestlers traveled to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Saturday for the Tri-State wrestling meet, while the rest of the team competed at the Eureka Invitational.
RONAN — The Chiefs split a pair of contests over the weekend at home, falling to one of the top teams in the state in Florence 59-35 on Friday before bouncing back on Saturday with a 68-52 win over Eureka.
CHARLO — The Charlo and Mission girls basketball teams met on Friday night in a Lake County battle, with the Lady Vikings besting their rivals 40-27 when all was said and done.
HOT SPRINGS — Despite strong outings from Clay Malatare (14 points), Jaylen Ducharme (13 points) and Byron Carpentier (11 points), the Two Eagle River School boys basketball team fell on Friday to Hot Springs 64-48.
ARLEE — The Warriors failed to keep their perfect season alive on Friday after a 69-59 loss to Superior, but got right back on the winning track with a 50-46 victory over Hot Springs on Saturday.
CHARLO — In a Lake County showdown, the Mission and Charlo boys basketball squads squared off on Friday in Charlo, with the visiting Bulldogs coming out on top 68-49.
