Lake City rolls to win over Moscow

COEUR d'ALENE - Junior setter/outside hitter Kylie Curtis had 14 kills in Lake City's 25-21, 25-21, 25-10 nonleague victory over Moscow at Lake City High on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Brown had six digs and three aces for the Timberwolves (14-5), and Camille Rounds had 16 assists.

"We played well today," assistant coach Laura Tolzmann said. "We were slow to get started, but once we got going we finished the match strong."

Lake City travels to Lewiston on Thursday for a 5A Inland Empire League match.

Timberlake

ST. MARIES - Mariah Gladden had nine kills, two blocks and one ace in St. Maries' 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 win over Intermountain League foe Timberlake.

Jaylee Sines had 31 assists for the Lumberjacks (18-8, 6-0 3A IML), and Abbey Andersen led both teams with 11 kills.

"I thought we played really well defensively," St. Maries coach Missy Asbury said. "Abbey Andersen had a great game defensively."

Marlee Masterson had a game-high 14 kills for the Lumberjacks, and Lakin Anxo had eight digs and one ace.

"We played well," Asbury said. "But we have to cut our missed serves, and we had a few lulls on returning serves."

Nichelle Eastmond had four aces for the Tigers (16-12, 4-4). Amanda Swanson had nine digs, Hannah Moseley two blocks and Kelly Madsen seven kills.

St. Maries visits Priest River on Thursday. Timberlake is at home Thursday against Clark Fork.

Cd'A Charter

SPOKANE - Lexi Young had 17 kills and 14 digs, but the Panthers fell to Valley Christian 25-16, 21-25, 25-8, 25-16 in a nonleague match.

"We had a hard time keeping our energy level and concentration level up," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Brian Childs said. "I didn't do as good of job getting us ready to play tonight. It was a real struggle all night for us."

Emily Verhaeghe had seven aces and 16 assists and Alisa Ricciardi had 16 digs for Coeur d'Alene Charter (5-16), which travels to the 2A District 1-2 tournament on Saturday at Lapwai High.

Grace Bible

COEUR d'ALENE - Desi Reardon had 20 digs as the Royals beat the Warriors 21-25, 11-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-11 in a Mountain Christian League match at Grace Bible Academy.

Kana Shanley had eight aces and five kills and Hannah McCauley eight assists for North Idaho Christian (5-9, 4-7 MCL), which hosts Country Christian on Saturday at Canfield Middle School.
