WARDEN - The Cougars remained undefeated in league play as they shutout the Cats 31-0 at home Tuesday. The win improves Warden to 5-0 in the Central Washington 2B Conference and 8-2 overall.

The Cougars jumped out to an 11-0 lead  in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as the game was halted after the five inning 10-run rule was invoked.

Warden pounded out 19 hits on the game. Bianca Hernandez was one of several Cougars with the hot bat in the game, going 3-for-3 at the plate with six RBI.  Nancy Guerra had three hit in three at bats, Haley Yamane was 2-for-3 with a double and four runs scored, Tawnie Gonsalez had two hits in two plate appearances with two doubles, and Iris Rodriquez hit a solo shot for Warden. Rodriguez (5-1) was also the winning pitcher, going the distance giving up just one hit, one base on balls, while striking out eight Thorp-Easton hitters.  The Cats committed 14 errors on the day.

"We hit the ball pretty well today," coach Wes Richins said. "Their pitcher was a freshman and had some control problems in the later innings. They are young team trying to get some experience."

Warden hits the road Saturday for another game against the Cats.
