Wrestlers busy during Christmas break

Bonners Ferry Badger Wrestlers have been busy during Christmas break.
On Dec. 16 and 17 the varsity traveled to Coeur d'Alene to Tri-State where the team ended up in 14th place with 1 Badger placing. Blaine Invernon at 132 pounds came in fifth.
The junior varsity traveled to Lakeland for a jvTournament on Dec. 17. Had at least one first place, Mark Grow at 145 pounds and Mike Brown fourth at 220 pounds.
On Dec. 28 found the Badgers at home hosting the St. Maries Lumberjacks.
The final score was Bonners Ferry 60 and St. Maries 24.
Pins were scored by David Chapman at 126 punds, Zack Heigle at 170 pounds, Jay Gaspar at 220 pounds and Will Gaspar at 285.
Other impressive wins were Tyson Boorman 13-3 at 138 pounds, Josh Miller 2-1 at 145, Anthony Skeen 12-9 at 152 pounds and Carmen Kritchbaum with a technical.
There were some good junior varsity matches. A stand out match was a 13-11 win by Zack Wilson at 145 pounds in overtime. Next matches will today in Sandpoint.
