PREP VOLLEYBALL: Williams, Hammons lead Viks

COEUR d'ALENE - Sydney Williams had 12 kills and four blocks and Ashley Hammons had 20 assists, four aces and six digs as the Coeur d'Alene Vikings beat the Lakeland Hawks 25-19, 25-15, 25-19 in a nonleague volleyball match Thursday night at Elmer Jordan Court.

"Ashley had a great match and did a great job of leading the team tonight," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said.

Kayla McGlathery had five aces and six digs, Amy Norris six digs for Coeur d'Alene (9-4), which hosts Moscow on Tuesday.

Haley Rotchford and Kaidan Kelsey had five kills each, Erin Ogden five digs for Lakeland (2-11), which travels to Reardan on Tuesday.

Trojans fall to Moscow, Reardan

POST FALLS - Brenna Meehan had 28 assists and five blocks for the Trojans in a 5-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 loss to the Bears at The Arena.

Savannah Hill had 12 kills and six aces, Natalie Sarff five blocks and Brooke Litalien 11 digs for Post Falls against Moscow.

Later, Sydney Wiggins had 13 kills as the Trojans (6-7) lost to Reardan (Wash.) 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23. Reardan also swept Moscow.

"I think overall, we just had some ups and downs throughout the entire tri-match," Post Falls coach Willow Hanna said.

Meehan had 30 assists and three aces, Litalien 23 digs and Hill three aces for Post Falls, which travels to Sandpoint on Monday.

St. Maries

KELLOGG - Mariah Gladden had 19 kills for the Lumberjacks in a 18-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-17, 15-12 loss to the Wildcats in a nonleague match at Andrews Gymnasium.

Kathy Epler had 27 assists, Madi McQueen 15 digs, Kylee Glidden four blocks for St. Maries (5-8), which faces Coeur d'Alene Charter on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic School in the Central Idaho League opener for both schools.

Meghan Day had 31 digs, Taylor Samuelson 18 assists and Kelli Kenser 14 kills for Kellogg (6-6), which travels to Priest River on Tuesday.

Cd'A Charter

HARRISON FLATS - Brie Benson had eight kills as the Warriors beat the Panthers 26-24, 15-25, 25-19, 28-26 in a nonleague match.

"It was a fun night," Kootenai coach Jessica Hammond said. "The girls battled hard and we had a lot of close games that went right down to the end."

Ellison Schultz had 30 assists and Lacy Goodsen had five kills and two aces for Kootenai (2-2), which hosts Mullan on Tuesday.

Lexi Young had four aces, four kills and seven assists, Stephanie Kociela 10 digs and Anna Verhaeghe four aces for Coeur d'Alene Charter (1-4), which travels to the Rosalia tournament on Saturday.
