Cemetery caretakers are thankful for volunteers

SANDPOINT — “We had to do something, because nobody was doing anything.”
Patty McGovern of the Lakeview Cemetery Committee said, reflecting on the decaying state of one of Sandpoint’s oldest landmarks.
Fortunately for McGovern, Lakeview Cemetery, and the Sandpoint community, that “something” came in the form of 35-40 volunteers who recently spent an afternoon cleaning and maintaining a piece of Sandpoint history.
