SANDPOINT — The power of War Memorial Field under the lights, and traditions of the Green Monarch Futbol Club were contagious last Saturday night. Riding the wave of energy, the Monarchs came out gunning, and never let up, throttling Spokane’s Tizoc Warriors 4-0.

In the opening minutes, after a barrage of shots, Raleigh Hanson scored the Monarchs’ first goal, on a textbook perfect assist from Anthony Fox, both SHS alumni. Naturally generous, the two young Monarch recruits reciprocated the favors when Hanson then assisted Fox 10 minutes later.

Green Monarchs notch win at North Idaho Cup

SANDPOINT — The North Idaho Cup returned to War Memorial Field last Friday, featuring some of the top adult soccer players in Sandpoint. The premier event of the evening featured arch rivals the Green Monarchs of Sandpoint downing the Montana Rapids, of the greater Kalispell and Whitefish areas, 2-0.
