MOSES LAKE — Parents must register by Wednesday for the T-ball league sponsored by Moses Lake Parks and Recreation.

T-ball is for children ages 5-7, and children must be 5 by May 10 of this year, according to a press release from parks and rec.

The season runs about six weeks, from the week of April 25 to the week of June 2, and is one practice and one game per week. All practices and games are held at Cascade Park.

T-ball is a “way to have fun while learning how to play (baseball),” the press release said. Cost is $30 per child.

Coaches are needed. People who want to register for T-ball, volunteer as coaches or who want more information can contact the parks and rec department, 411 South Balsam St., 509-764-3805.

Parks and rec official also announced prices will increase on season passes for Surf ‘n Slide water park after Friday.

Until Friday, an individual season pass is $85 for people living in the city limits. It’s an additional $20 for everybody added to the pass, up to five people – until Friday. After Friday, the individual pass for city residents is $100, and $30 for each person added, up to five people.

A season pass for people outside the city limits is $90 until Friday, $115 after Friday. People who want to buy a pass or want more information can contact the parks and rec office.

MOSES LAKE — Personal information of Big Bend Community College students was not compromised as the result of a cyberattack against a company that provides system management software. Matt Killebrew, BBCC director of communications, said the college does use the Canvas system, which allows students to access class and financial information, and communicate with instructors, among other things. The company that owns the Canvas system was hacked in early May, according to information on the Wired website. “We still don’t know who did it, but we do know no important information was accessed,” Killebrew said.
