COEUR d'ALENE - Pat Raffee is no longer Kootenai County's chief deputy clerk.
The Kootenai County Board of Commissioners sent an e-mail blast to county employees Monday stating Raffee is no longer serving as an appointed official of Kootenai County effective immediately.
Raffee confirmed her termination from the clerk's office.
"(Clerk) Jim Brannon chose to sever our working relationship," Raffee told the Press.
Attempts to reach Brannon for comment were unsuccessful.
Raffee, who held the position since 2011, said she was thankful for the time she spent in the chief deputy seat.
"I was privileged to serve our citizens," Raffee said.
Raffee has also been an executive director of two Idaho urban renewal agencies (Moscow and Post Falls), and was also appointed to the Idaho Commission for Libraries by Gov. Butch Otter.
Shelly Amos will begin serving as the interim chief deputy clerk.
"In addition to her time as the manager of county sssistance, Shelly has many years of experience in the public sector and we have every confidence in her ability to assist Clerk Brannon through this transition," the commissioners' e-mail read.
