“We had another great match today,” said Post Falls coach Matt Barkley, whose squad swept Lewiston at home on Tuesday. “Our serving kept Lewiston out of system most of the afternoon and our serve-receive was near perfect. Allison Munday had no hitting errors and Macky Morris, Kalli Minden and Ali Carpenter nailed down our defense in the back row.”

COEUR d’ALENE — Four days after needing four games to dispose of their city rivals, the host Timberwolves swept the fourth-seeded Vikings 25-15, 25-20, 25-16 in the first round of the 5A Region I tournament.

“We played strong enough to win, but are capable of playing better,” Lakeside coach Brad Veile said. “Mullan came at us with a lot of back row attacks, which has been a problem for us this year, and we got a chance to work on that. We mixed up our rotation a little, and ... we had some good things come out of that.”

Mullan’s season ends with the loss.
