KELLOGG — St. Maries avenged one of its non-conference losses, opening an early double-digit lead en route to a 46-25 win at Kellogg on Monday night.

Kaci Haeg’s 17 points led the Lumberjacks (12-5), who dropped a 55-40 decision to the visiting Wildcats in the “Brawl for the Ball” spirit game on Jan. 20. St. Maries has won four straight since then.

“It was a good matchup — they came out ready to get us back,” Kellogg coach Jana Kothe said. “They out-hustled us and out-rebounded us, and we couldn’t make our easy shots.”

Kaili Cates scored 12 points for Kellogg (6-9), which hosts Bonners Ferry on Thursday.

Madison Cordell and Nancy Becktel had eight points each for St. Maries, which travels to Wallace on Thursday.
