NIC SOFTBALL: Cardinals sweep Spokane

COEUR d’ALENE — Kahlea Dumas, a freshman from Post Falls High, hit a two-run home run in the second inning, then followed with another in the fourth inning of the opener for North Idaho College, which swept Northwest Athletic Conference rival Community Colleges of Spokane 13-5 and 13-9 at Memorial Field on Tuesday.
Addison Ribordy had a two-run triple in the opener for NIC.
Taryn Vanderwiel homered twice in the nightcap for NIC (13-11, 8-4 NWAC).
NIC hosts Big Bend in a doubleheader at Memorial Field on Friday at 2 p.m.
Spokane is 4-13, 3-9.
