LIBBY, Mont. — Freshman Jesi Kitchin tripled and doubled and drove in four runs as the visiting Tigers defeated the Loggers.

Kitchin hit a two-run double in the first inning and a two-run triple in the seventh for Timberlake (12-2), which has won eight straight games.

Her two-run triple would have been an over-the-fence homer (her first in high school), but Libby appealed and umpires ruled she missed touching the plate.

“Jesi felt terrible about it,” Timberlake coach Casi Lupinacci said. “But she hit the ball really well today, and had some great at-bats. She’s really coming into her own as a freshman.”

Logan Walsh went 3 for 4 with a run scored for the Tigers. Acacia Pecor struck out six.

“Acacia pitched great; defensively we had a few hiccups in the first couple innings, but then settled down. Kristy Beardsall had a great game both in the field and at the plate.”

Timberlake returns to Intermountain League play Saturday with a doubleheader at Kellogg.
