Swim the Fish challenges competitors

The annual Swim the Fish competition had over 100 swimmers participating on Saturday, Aug. 13 at City Beach.

There were 1 mile, half-mile and a 5K (3.1 miles) swim options. The races took place on a loop course starting and finishing at Whitefish City Beach.

In the 5K, Thomas Winkler of Helena placed first with a time of 1:00:07.53. In the mile race, Whitefish High graduate Ada Qunell clocked a time of 25:57.95 to place first and in the half-mile race, Ryder Brookes of Aptos, California finished first with a time of 13:38.63.
