Two people were injured in a plane crash near Airport Road in St. Ignatius on Tuesday, local authorities said.

The crash occurred about noon, Aug. 23. The airplane crashed during take-off, Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said in a press release.

Emergency responders arriving at the scene found both occupants alive, though suffering from minor injuries, Bell said. Authorities notified the Federal Aviation Administration and temporarily diverted traffic on Airport Road to assess the scene and damage to utilities from the crash.

Bell did not describe the type of plane involved.
