ONTARIO, Ore. — The visiting Cardinals shot 16 of 54 from the field in a Northwest Athletic Conference loss to the Chukars.
“We just didn’t execute our plays tonight,” NIC coach Korina Baker said. “We got a little rattled and didn’t execute. We scored 33 points for the 3-point line on Wednesday, and only had six today. This game kind of showed the girls that we can’t live and die at the 3-point line and we’ve got to work the ball inside a little more. I didn’t expect us to play the way we did tonight. We didn’t play Cardinal basketball tonight, that’s for sure."
Sophomore Kolby Pimperton had 13 points and five rebounds for NIC (9-6, 4-3 NWAC), which faces Columbia Basin in Pasco, Wash., on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
McKell Parkinson scored 14 points for Treasure Valley (8-11, 4-4).
