POST FALLS — Rider Seguine (98 pounds) and Connor McCarroll (132) went unbeaten on the night for Post Falls, which rolled past Thunder Ridge, then fell to Meridian in a tuneup for the River City Duals tournament on Thursday night at The Arena.

Against the Titans of Idaho Falls, Post Falls won seven matches by pin and another three by forfeit in a 65-15 win. Meridian won six matches by pin in a 48-21 dual win over the Trojans later on Thursday.

“We had some really close matches that we knew were going to be battles,” Reardon said. “Against good teams like that, you’ve gotta win those ones.”

Seguine (98), Ethan Wilson (106), Zack Campbell (113), Tyson Barnhart (120), Trey Smith (126), McCarroll (132), Trevor Miller (195) and Austin Portner (285) led the Trojans against Thunder Ridge.

“Guys just went out really aggressive and were looking for bonus points,” Reardon said. “Our guys competed hard and aren’t going to let you get away with things. Great for us, because it was a great battle and we saw what we needed to do to get better and beat teams like Meridian.”

The 24-team River City Duals tournament begins today at Post Falls High starting at 3 p.m.

Saturday’s matches will begin at 9 a.m., with championship finals at 5 p.m.
