The deadline to apply for state shooting range improvement grants is fast approaching.

Clubs, private organizations, local governments and school districts have until Feb. 1 to file paperwork for the dollars. Funded from the sales of state hunting licenses, the grants provide partial funding to help establish or augment shooting ranges across the state in an effort to nurture safe, accessible and diverse opportunities for residents.

Those interested can download the grant application form at fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/grant-programs/shooting-range. Online registration can be found at fundingmt.org.

Completed application packets should be sent to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, Shooting Range Grant Program, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701. Call 406-444-9947 for more information.
