Moses Pointe Spring Golf Extravaganza set for April 15

MOSES LAKE – The Links at Moses Pointe will be hosting its Spring Golf Extravaganza on April 15, including the Pepsi Cola Long Drive Championship, junior golf clinic and more.

See below for a schedule of events. The course is located at 4524 Westshore Dr. NE.

8 a.m.-5 p.m.: Golf and Cart ride, 18 holes for $45. Range balls are $5 a basket. Tee times are required.

9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Club Swap. Golfers may bring clubs to trade and sell. No charge for vendors.

9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Lost and found sale. Proceeds go to the junior golf start-up at Moses Pointe.

10-10:45 a.m.: free short game clinic for all ages.

12-12:45 p.m.: free junior golf clinic for ages 9-17. Clubs are provided.

3-5 p.m.: Long Drive contest. Men’s and women’s divisions with $250 prize for first place in both divisions. $20 for three balls, $50 for nine balls. Maximum of nine balls per entry. Proceeds go toward junior golf.

6-8 p.m.: Live music at Mulligans featuring Dave Irish.

9 a.m.-close: Sales in the golf shop.

11 a.m.-3 p.m.: $10 burger, fries and soda at Mulligans.

ELLENSBURG — As the Central Washington Wildcats enter fall camp, they also embark on the beginning of a new chapter, according to CWU Athletics. After winning the 2025 GNAC championship and reaching the NCAA West Regional semifinals, the Wildcats enter the 2026 season with a roster loaded with experience, talent and championship aspirations. Lauren Herseth takes over as head coach after serving as the program's associate head coach for the last five seasons, following the departure of Mario Andaya to become CWU's Deputy Director of Athletics. Herseth will be joined by assistant coach Hannah Stires, a former standout Wildcat player who returns to the Wildcats.

CHENEY — Eastern Washington earned its second straight win to open the season, defeating Bucknell 1-0 behind a late goal from Mia Miconi and another standout performance in goal from Payton Hyde, according to a statement by EWU Athletics. The Eagles recorded 11 shots in the match, while Bucknell finished with 21. Despite consistent pressure from the Bison, Eastern's defense held strong to secure its second consecutive shutout.
