MOSES LAKE — Competing at the Washington Premier League’s WA Cup over the weekend, the Basin Sounders B2014 team left the tournament as the Bronze 2 champions.
The team, coached by Josh Bruce and Cameron Black, only surrendered one goal over the five games played at the WA Cup, which came in their first match; a 3-1 win over Highline Premier FC on Friday.
On Saturday, the Sounders opened up with a 9-0 win over the NPSA Titans Navy Puyallup before taking down the NPSA Titans White Eastside 14-0. With a 3-0 mark in bracket play, the Sounders advanced to a semifinal match against the North Idaho Avalance, winning 10-0 to reach the finals.
Against J&S Futbol Academy, the Basin Sounders claimed a 4-0 victory to win the Bronze 2 tournament.

Bossenbrook scores as Eagles battle Utah Tech to 1-1 draw
CHENEY — Eastern Washington battled Utah Tech to a 1-1 draw at home, with Maya Bossenbrook scoring the Eagles' goal and Payton Hyde delivering a 12-save performance in net, according to EWU Athletics. Reese Kincaid and Mira Scarsella each recorded an assist on Bossenbrook's second-half goal. Noelle Raczykowski led Eastern's attack with four shots, placing three on goal, while Mia Miconi and Scarsella added three shots apiece. The Eagles finished with 16 shots and nine on goal.
Eagles place eighth at CDA National
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Eastern Washington men's golf stayed local this week, heading to Idaho to host the CDA National Invite at CDA National Reserve. EWU placed 8th in the tournament, shooting 877. Emilio Gil Leyva Llamas paired together three great rounds according to EWU athletics, with a first day 74 (+2), second day 71 (-1), and a third day 74 (+2). Gil Leyva finished his tournament tied for 17th.
