“Erika exemplifies excellence in human resources through her strategic vision, exceptional leadership and dedication to fostering a thriving workplace culture. Her approach to HR management is characterized by innovative practices that prioritize employee development, well-being, and organizational effectiveness,” said Misty Aguilar in her nomination of Erika Belmontes for 40 under 40. 

Belmontes has been around the Columbia Basin for some time on a professional level. A resident of Quincy, she currently serves as the HR Manager for Sila Nanotechnologies Moses Lake facility. Before that, she worked for the Grant County Public Utility District in a similar position. She’s also worked at Tree Top – possibly most widely known for apple juice production – and Mission Vista. She’s also served in human resources roles for Lamb Weston at multiple locations around the Basin. All told, she’s served in HR roles for about a decade. 

In the community, Belmontes also offers her time with the Boys & Girls Club, Quincy School District, Big Bend Community College and the Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center to aid people in career development.

Her people skills are where Belmontes shines, Aguilar said. 

“Central to her strategy is a deep understanding of human capital dynamics and the strategic alignment of HR initiatives with business goals. Erika leverages this insight to design and implement policies and programs that attract top talent, enhance employee engagement, and drive performance across the organization,” Aguilar said.

She added that Belmontes works to create a supportive and inclusive work environment where employees feel empowered and their input is respected, ensuring everyone feels welcome at all times.
