Take a trip through Boundary County and see the works of several local artists with a free, self-guided tour next month of some of the artist studios.
The inspirational beauty and nature of rural North Idaho provides a haven for artists of all mediums. Many of these artists do not have their work publicly available and remain part of the best kept secrets of Boundary County. With the help of Tamara Wagner of Wood Thief Art and Hannah Sucsy of Teascarlet Fine Art, the public will now have a chance to get a look inside the studios of these talented artists.
“Artist studio tours are a way for people to visit with local artists and see the studios where they create their art,” Hannah Sucsy of Teascarlet Fine Art said about the studio tours. “It is rewarding to connect with the product as well as the process and buying directly from the artist is rewarding for both parties.”
The Boundary County Artist Studio Tour will take place Sept. 14-15, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both days.
The tour features 12 artists at 10 studios throughout the county, with art including painting, fabric art, sculpture, wood art, tattooing, photography, drawing, and metal art. Some of the artists will be demonstrating their processes.

On the website you can find the participating artists' biographies, photos, and a map of studio locations. If a paper copy is needed, they are available at Teascarlet Fine Art Gallery, 6389 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry.
The tour can begin at any of the tour locations and participants can take any route that they choose. The driving time to all 10 locations is approximately two hours.
Sponsorships for the tour are available as well.
“We've been getting sponsorships from individuals and businesses to help make the tour a success. Several businesses have expressed interest and excitement in helping bring this event to our community, Sucsy said. “Tour costs include signage, advertising, tour brochure, webpage, and promotion, as well as dozens of hours planning and coordinating details.”
If anyone would like to become a sponsor, sponsorships will be available up until the tour. Sponsors will be listed on the tour webpage with their name or logo and be recognized on social media.
